IN2WISHIN: RESIO

6 - 9 May 2021
Overview

Derived from its title in2wishin (intuition/into wishing) the body of work explores the freedom of movement and the possibility of the cathartic release of expression through the meditation of painting from intuition. While exploring explosive movement and flow. This body of work is almost a study of dance and movement capturing raw emotions.

- RESIO

After what seemed like a meteoric rise in Melbourne’s much-loved street art scene from the outside, Resio had actually been quietly plying his craft for years adopting the spray can as his preferred medium way back in primary school. Initially introduced to breakdancing and hip-hop culture by his late uncle, a seed was sown that would shape Resio’s life for the next decade; the idea of adopting a nom de plume in the graffiti art world, and then running totally, and unapologetically, free with it. Over the last 4 years, he has done exactly that, bedazzling us with his unique breadth of talent, gracing our city with a trail of work that has charmed both the old stewards of the scene as well as joining the ranks of this Generation’s freakishly talented ambassadors.
