MUDO Brazil, b. 1989
Born in 1989, an only child, he spent a good part of his childhood watching cartoons, drawing what he saw and creating characters. From 2000 onwards he lived in a central region of São Paulo, where grew up absorbing all the forms of art he saw on the streets from the neighbourhood, where it was a centre for the greatest artists of the time and known worldwide today. Mudo was naturally searching for his own style, testing countless forms for 5 years until 2009 where defining his signature character as a humanoid monkey and the pseudonym 'mute' originated from Mudo's from school days.
2024 marks Mudo's 25 year of practice, both in graphic design and in art with illustration, graffiti, murals, tattoos and painting. Their characters have unique characteristics, easy to consider, with simple features and a certain tone of humour, reproducing different characters and scenes from everyday life. Mudo has collaborated with major Brazilian brands such as High Company and Kenner, and has exhibited in New York in 2018 and 2023 in São Paulo.
