Chimp is a multidisciplinary contemporary artist from New Zealand, now based in Melbourne. Currently working from Everfresh Studios in Collingwood. With a background in skateboard production, street art, and a degree in industrial design, he has spent over a decade creating murals and sculptural installations
Over the years, Chimp has collaborated on large-scale projects with clients such as New Zealand Parliament, local councils, multiple festivals, universities, Kathmandu, and QT Hotels. Each project is shaped by its surroundings, drawing inspiration from local culture, wildlife, and landscapes to create works that feel both immersive and site-specific.
Most recently Chimp has been commissioned as the creative lead on a project with Melbourne City Council. Developing an undercroft site into a multi-use public space that incorporates a skatepark, basketball courts, roller rink and climbing walls. In collaboration with playground and skatepark manufacturer Playce, merging art, design and construction processes.
