Evie Cahir b. 1992
Cahir's work invites viewers to reflect on their own experience with space, both visually and bodily. Drawing inspiration from Fauvism, a vibrant and audacious art movemeWoollharamphasised bold, expressive colour, Cahir creates a rich and atmospheric language that not only captures the vitality of nature but also encourages a contemplative engagement with the viewer's surroundings. This focus on colour as a vehicle for emotional and spatial awareness forms the core of her artistic exploration and expression.
Born 1992, Ballarat, Evie studied a Degree in Illustration at NMIT, Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE [2013] Evie has held solo exhibitions since 2015 in Melbourne and has been included in group exhibitions in Sydney, San Francisco, Perth and Rome.
In 2016 she travelled to Finland to complete an arts residency at Arteles Art Residency Program. She has been a finalist in the Len Fox Painting Prize, Waverley Woollhara Art Prize and Greenway Art Prize.
